description

The Switch is a specialized course designed for the assessment and management of musculoskeletal soft tissue disorders, including muscular pain, fascia restrictions, and myofascial trigger points.

This program focuses on developing strong clinical reasoning skills to help clinicians identify whether the muscle needs activation (Switch On) or inhibition and release (Switch Off), based on accurate assessment and understanding of the underlying dysfunction.

Participants will learn how to evaluate soft tissue conditions, understand tissue healing stages, and apply a wide range of manual and instrument assisted techniques. The course integrates evidence based practice with intensive hands on training covering multiple approaches including manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, and cupping therapy.

Through practical application and real clinical scenarios, this course enables therapists to confidently manage soft tissue related problems and improve patient outcomes.

objectives

  • Identify different types of soft tissue disorders including muscular pain and fascial restrictions.
  • Understand stages of tissue healing and the role of physiotherapy in each stage.
  • Differentiate between pain originating from soft tissue and pain influenced by other structures.
  • Apply clinical reasoning to determine when to activate (Switch On) or inhibit (Switch Off) muscles.
  • Assess muscle behavior including tightness, weakness, inhibition, and overactivity.
  • Apply manual therapy techniques including PRT, MET, and trigger point release.
  • Implement myofascial release techniques and manage fascial restrictions effectively.
  • Apply instrument assisted soft tissue techniques (IASTM) in clinical practice.
  • Perform dry and sliding cupping techniques safely and effectively.
  • Understand indications, precautions, and application of wet cupping for common MSK conditions.
